Frequently Asked Questions

My keypad is beeping and showing on the display I have a COMM FAILURE, what should I do?

First, push RESET on the keypad to silence the beeping.

Your keypad is beeping showing you have a COMM FAILURE because your system has tried to dial itself out on the phone line, and cannot. Usually this happens during a storm when both your Electric and Phones both shut off, due to a power outage.

Once your phone line comes back on and YOU can dial out.....

To clear the COMM FAILURE, you need to arm your security system, and either open a door, or walk past a motion detector to trip your system off.

Once your system trips, put in your code on the keypad to silence the system. The monitoring station is going to call, make sure you answer the phone, and let them know you tripped off the system. Give them the information they need. Then push RESET on the keypad to bring you back to the SYSTEM READY status. Your system has now sent out a clean signal through the phone line, and the COMM FAILURE message should be gone.

If the monitoring station does not call you and/or the COMM FAILURE message does not clear, please call the office to schedule up for a service call. The wire connecting your alarm system to the phone line, might be damaged.

My Security system will not respond to my code that I entered and the security system keeps tripping and the Siren's are ringing away...

If ALL else fails, PLEASE power your system down. TURN IT OFF! If you have a battery cutoff switch (located in the bottom Left-hand corner of the alarm panel) and is on it's you will see a Green LED lit and a toggle switch. Simply, flip the switch to the OFF position. Generally, they were installed in our panels since 2004.

If you have an older system. You will have to unplug the plug-in transformer, generally located in the basement, next to the Electrical panel (Circuit Breaker box) Once you unplug the transformer, you will have to open the alarm PANEL (generally located in a closet) and disconnect the battery backup system. Just unplug either the BLACK or RED wire. This will disconnect ALL the power to your system.
